How to Make Guava & Pineapple Glazed Salmon
Toni JeffersonThis one feels like Florida sunshine on a plate, sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of island flavor. Plus, it’s quick enough to pull off on a weeknight when life is already doing the most.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off, your choice)
- 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (blended or finely crushed)
- ½ cup guava puree (or boiled guavas blended smooth)
- 2 tablespoons honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- Prep the glaze – In a small saucepan, combine guava puree, pineapple, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Simmer on medium heat until thickened (about 8–10 minutes). Taste and adjust sweetness or salt.
- Season the salmon – Pat salmon dry, then season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Cook the salmon – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and almost cooked through.
- Glaze it up – Brush or spoon the guava-pineapple glaze over the salmon, letting it caramelize for 1–2 minutes in the pan.
- Serve hot – Pair with rice, roasted veggies, or even a fresh garden salad.
Tip: Make extra glaze — it doubles as a dipping sauce for veggies or even grilled chicken!
