Back to School, Back to the Garden (Sort Of…)
Toni JeffersonFamily Life Right Now
Whew. Back-to-school season hit us hard this year. We’ve got one starting kindergarten, another heading into PK3, the baby still hanging out with me while I work from home, and somewhere in between… the garden. Let’s just say, right now I’m praying the rain remembers to water it for me.
What’s Cooking
Dinner? We’re keeping it interesting. We whipped up Haitian legume earlier this week, and let me tell you, it barely lasted a day and a half in this house. Tonight, we’re switching it up with salmon glazed in fresh guava and pineapple, yes, straight from the backyard (recipe to come)!
And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out our legume video, where I show how papayas aren’t just about the fruit.
Garden Wins (and Losses)
Life lately feels like juggling flaming pineapples while wearing mismatched socks. This adulting thing? Definitely not for the weak. But the small wins keep us going. Like actually managing to harvest our guavas before the squirrels got to them. And trust me, that’s a major win around here.
Until Next Time
May your garden get enough rain, your dinner stretch longer than mine, and your squirrels find someone else’s fruit tree.
